Aram Saroyan

Aram Saroyan nació en Nueva York en 1943. Poeta, novelista, biógrafo y guionista. En prosa, publicó, entre otros: The Street: An Autobiographical Novel (1974); Marijuana and Me (1974); Genesis Angels: The Saga of Lew Welch and the Beat Generation (1979); Trio: The Intimate Friendship of Oona Chaplin/Carol Matthau/Gloria Vanderbilt (1985); y Rancho Mirage: An American Tragedy of Manners, Madness, and Murder (2002). En poesía: In (1965); Coffee Coffee (1967); The Rest (1971); O My Generation, and Other Poems (1976); Day and Night: Bolinas Poems (1998), entre otros. En 2007 se publicó la antología de sus poemas minimalistas –Complete Minimal Poems– por la que recibió el premio William Carlos Williams, otorgado por la Poetry Society of America. También obtuvo dos National Endowments for the Arts en la categoría poesía, uno por su controversial poema de una palabra de extensión: “lighght”. En la actualidad, vive en Los Ángeles.
